I think UNIFEED L.O.R is a feed in the form of breeding paste for feeding canaries and other birds of balanced cage that is presented in the form of a unique dish.

UNIFEED OR "UNIQUE PLATO" is a food system used for decades in the feeding of rental animals and domestic mammals, and today it is possible to produce it for ornithology thanks to the multi-year studies carried out by the LOR (Ornithological Laboratory of Reggio Emilia) to identify the food needs of the different species of ornamental birds. UNIFEED is presented as an alternative or as a complement to traditional seed-based feeding and as an alternative to extruded food, taking as strengths the quality of the raw materials (all cereals used come from provisions intended for human food) and, above all, the exact identification of the quantities of the nutritional elements necessary for each species.

ADVANTAGES OF UNIFEED

BALANCED FORMULA:

The mixture is the result of an impressive experimentation aimed at identifying the needs of the species concerned and ensuring their well-being:

Proteins (needs for essential amino acids such as methionine, lysine, tryptophan, etc.).

Fats (correct contribution of polyunsaturated fatty acids).

Non-whipped extracts (starch and sugars).

Raw fiber (cellulose and non-digestible sugars).

Mineral salts (macroelements such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium and microelements such as copper, zinc, iodine, cobalt, selenium, manganese, etc.).

Fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and water-soluble vitamins (B1, B2, B6, B12, folic acid, biotin, C).

Natural pigments.

It should be remembered that any element develops in the animal diet the function of nutrient only within a certain dose (species-to-species variable), below which the function will gradually become null and above which toxicosis phenomena are possible (e.g. fat-soluble vitamins, microelements, methionine, etc.). Therefore, it is not only important that a food contains all vitamins or all amino acids but also the amount contained in it, a value that has to meet the requirements of a given species.

QUALITY OF RAW MATERIALS:

The cereals used in the mixture are rigorously intended for human feeding so that greater control over them can prevent the presence of mycotoxins.

Top quality plant and animal proteins.

Much of the cereals have been heat treated to increase their digestibility and thus the digestive efficiency of animals.

Vitamins and fats are cold-added contrary to extruded ones to prevent them from spoiling by heat generated during the extrusion phase.

TIME SAVING AND ECONOMIC SAVINGS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF THE BREEDER:

This strong point allows to reduce up to 80% the labor in the breeding (in the cages is present a single feeder and a single drinker).

ECONOMIC SAVINGS:

1 KG of a good seed mixture presents a waste of the shells that is different between seed and seed; it can be quantified by 35-40% for the alpiste up to 80-90% for some field herbs such as wild fennel, with an average of at least 50-60% waste relative to the originating product. In addition, birds discard and throw away another 15-20% seeds, but with Unifeed the amount is negligible.

Increased nutritional efficiency: unifeed offers more digestible foods because they are cooked, contains simple sugars of rapid availability in addition to soluble proteins of optimal quality and is presented in powder form as if it were already "predicted"; to the contario, a mixture of seeds has to be completely digested by the animal that expends energies to grind the rude food in the gizzard and fails to attack with digestive juices the entire ration with the consequent production of numerous waste in the intestines (breeders pay many nutritious elements but these are eliminated with the droppings of birds). The efficiency of unifeed can be quantified, according to our studies, in at least 30-40% more in relation to a good seed mixture. Savings related to the lack of use of bird pastes, mineral salts, vitamins, grit, probiotics, acidifiers, etc. that can be quantified by 20-30% compared to a traditional diet composed of seed mixtures and food supplements. Such considerations show that unifeed has only nominally a higher price than that of a traditional calf; but it actually nourishes our animals and keeps them healthy and productive at a lower price, with the undoubted advantage of sting less time on the management of feeders and more time to enjoy our hobby.
